Consumer Benefits:
- Cleans and seals at the same time
- Improves the bond of topcoats
- Etches concrete & removes oil and dirt
- Penetrates and seals pores
- Converts calcium hydroxide to calcium silicate
- No acid fumes
Our product is a combination heavy duty cleaner (which removes oils, fats and waxes unlike acids), etches the concrete, and the cleaner aspect of the product enhances the second part of the formula by reducing the surface tension and allowing it to penetrate deeper.
The second part of this product converts calcium hydroxide to calcium silicate, thereby sealing the surface to increase the bond of the coating. Silicates are used today in a number of coatings and sealers. They are extremely hard and penetrate and bond with concrete permanently, effectively sealing and priming the concrete. This will help reduce failures of any coating by helping to prevent contaminants from coming to the surface, helping to prevent moisture vapor transmission from causing blisters, and it prevents more calcium hydroxide form forming at the surface where the bond between the coatings exists. This means you can clean, etch and prep/prime the surface all in one step.
The Product needs to remain wet for a minimum of ten minutes for the chemical reaction to take place, so in the heat and sun it is best to work in sections to prevent it from drying to quickly and you don not want to puddle it. This product does not leave a residue, it does not bring contaminants to the surface, and it does not promote the growth of calcium, salts, and crystals like acid does and best of all it cuts the preparation time. It can be used on any concrete surface from decks, pool, car ports, ornamental figures, houses, basements, foundations, concrete countertops, any concrete product you want to clean, harden and coat, stain or paint. We are presently using this product for our tile and coping installations and it preps the surface for cement based products as well.
ARMORGUARD CLEANER INSTRUCTIONS
ARMORGUARD CLEANER - Mix 1 lb of cleaner to 1 gallon of warm water to dilute, you can pre-mix the product in a bucket for easier dilution of powder. Then pour the mixed liquid into an airless hand pump sprayer (garden sprayer) Spray the product directly onto concrete or masonry substrate, fully saturate the areas. Then use a heavy bristled brush (deck brush) to brush the coating into the surface.
This will ensure a good etch and cleaning. Let it sit for about 15-20 mins max and wash the surface clean with water, remove any excess water with a pump, shop vac or towels, etc. Coverage 1 mixed gallon will cover approx. 500 s.f, coverage may vary due to porosities of the substrate.
