STEP 1 – If an epoxy coating in on the surface remove all flaked, peeled or blistered areas by scraping, sanding or powerwashing. Then sand or grind the entire area with a 60 or 80 grit sand paper on a mechanical sander.
ALL LATEX, RUBBER-BASED COATINGS MUST BE COMPLETELY REMOVED.

STEP 2 - If substrate has NO cracking or degraded areas move to step 3, if substrate has degraded areas clean out voids completely and fill cracks/voids or tie holes with ArmorGuard Towel Mix.

STEP 3 – Clean substrates with ArmorGuard Concrete Cleaner to manufactures specifications, then wash again and wait until fully dry. (for Concrete or masonry surfaces only)

STEP 4 – When Completely dry. Apply ArmorGuard Color Top Coat per manufactures specifications, (a second coat can be applied within 24 hours, if over 24 hours, you must sand between each coat with a 60-80 grit sand paper.), 3/8 inch lint free roller and heads are recommended. Cut in hard to reach areas with brush then roll walls and floor working your way out. We strongly recommend you cast pumice, quartz or silca sand over coated areas while drying for a non slip finish.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS

Step 1 – Read labels thoroughly for mixing ratios, ArmorGuard has a 15 -20 minute pot life at 77 degrees F. (make sure all tools and crew are ready to work before mixing.

Step 2 – Mix Resin and hardener separately for approximately 2 minutes, use separate epoxy mixing paddles for each one.

Step 3 – If cutting in an area, a small amount of product is needed; carefully measure the correct amount by weighing or pouring into measuring cups. For example (2 to 1 ratio means 14 oz of resin to 7 oz of hardener) If not move to step 4

Step 4 – Pour Hardener into Resin bucket, mix together for 1-2 minutes, and make sure products are fully mixed.

Step 5 – After product is fully mixed pour into 2-3 clean buckets, equally full. Never give more than ¾ -1.5 gallons of product for each person to work with at a time. (Work fast, keep rollers moving or product will heat up and rollers will harden) cast quartz, pumice or silica sand over area while wet for a non-slip finish.

Attention: For first time users, mix small amounts of resin / hardener at a time. No more than ¾ of a gallon. (2 quarts of resin to 1 quart hardener) For small areas a quart and pint can be mixed.

Step 6 – Clean equipment, or hands etc. with denatured alcohol, if you spilled, clean spot with denatured alcohol as well.


NOTES:

• Do not coat if there is a threat of rain on the day you are coating, we recommend you coat early morning before heat rises or late afternoon when temperature drops. If dew is on surface, clean surface with multiple clean towels or wait until sun burns if off.

• Do not keep rolling the same area, once the area is covered move to another section, this is a coating not a paint.

• Never Coat a wet surface, moisture content must be 20% or less prior to coating

• ALWAYS READ LABELS AND INSTRUCTIONS FIRST.


TOOLS NEEDED

• 9” and 4” roller handles and heads (3/8” lint free)
• Brushes for cutting in, if needed
• 4 – 5 Gallon Buckets,
• 4 Quart Size Buckets for cut in areas, if needed
• Heavy Duty Drill (Corded)
• 2- Epoxy mixing paddles (one for resin, 1 for hardener, you can use resin paddle when mixing together)
• Denatured Alcohol – for clean up
• Towels – for clean up or spills
• Quartz, pumice or Silica Sand- used to make an area non –slip, Eco Smart Epoxy Systems is not liable for slip and falls.

Always read mixing labels for mixing ratios FIRST
Always check labels for matching hardeners with resins.

ArmorGuard Cleaner – 1 lb mixed will cover 500 Square Feet; mix 1lb of powder to 1 gallon of water

ArmorGuard Trowel Mix – Mix 2 to 1 (2 gallons of resin to 1 gallon of hardener)
3 gallons will cover approx. 150 s.f.

ArmorGuard Color Top Coats - Mix 2 to 1 (2 gallons of resin to 1 gallon of hardener),
coverage is approx. 300-350 s.f.
